Related Links 1801 $10 gold piece heads Stack’s sale

An 1801 Bass Dannreuther-2, T-25, Capped Bust $10 gold piece graded MS-65 by Numismatic Guaranty Corp. attracted a bid of $201,250 to lead the prices realized list for Stack’s 73rd anniversary sale Oct. 22.Overall, the sale realized $5,074,315.20. Prices realized include a 15 percent buyer’s fee for each lot. A 1796 No Stars $2.50 gold piece, BD-2, graded PCGS AU-58 with CAC sticker brought $184,000. A Proof-67 Ultra Cameo 1899 Liberty Head $20 gold piece fetched $172,500. Bringing $155,250 was an NGC MS-61 1792 half disme. The cataloger says it is one of the finest seen at NGC. Coming in with a $126,500 price was a PCGS MS-67 1855 $1 gold piece with CAC sticker.A repaired and re-engraved 1870-S Seated Liberty dollar that has VF-30 details attracted a bid of $120,750. The coin was once in the F.C.C. Boyd Collection. An NGC Proof-68 Ultra Cameo 1899 $5 Coronet $5 gold piece with CAC sticker also made six figures with a bid of $103,500.
